Now that I’ve had some time to recover from new year festivities, here’s a quick look at some of the games which I’ll be hoping to play at some point.
Now keep in mind that due to Gunpla and other factors, I’ve become somewhat of a cheapass when it comes to gaming lately, so chances are I won’t be getting all of these, not until some price drops hit.
Gundam Extreme VS Full Boost
January 29th
The best Gundam game ever made, and possibly will ever be made. It’s just a shame that adoption of this game isn’t a bit more widespread and finding local players is almost impossible without joining a local community and organizing times.
Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
January 31st
The TR reboot gets a facelift for next-gen consoles, with high resolution textures and the TressFX technology which lets Lara do the whole Panteine hair flip thing. I still haven’t finished the 360 version, and I need some new games for my next-gen consoles, so I’ll definitely be picking this one up.
Super Heroine Chronicle
February 6th
A title that will probably fly very low under the radar for most. Super Robot Wars meets Queens Gate, anime, fanservice mash up. I’d like to play this at some point, however not sure if it warrants a day one purchase for me.
Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns
February 11th
This one is more for my wife, but personally I’d like to see the story of this trilogy put to rest.
Titanfall
March 13th
This is a big one. Possibly the first true next-gen title in terms of gameplay and graphics, I suspect this will be my new timesink game, much like Uncharted 2/3.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster
March 20th
FFX was my first PS2 game and is my favourite Final Fantasy game in the modern era. To finally be able to replay it again in HD on a modern console is something which I wanted for a long time. Unfortunately the EN version doesn’t have the Japanese audio track, which is a shame considering fans have been asking for it since the game was announced.
3rd Super Robot Wars Z Jigoku Hen
April 10th
While technically not a Q1 release title, this will nonetheless be one of the most important games of the year for me. The first of an epic two-parter, Jigoku Hen is also the first non-OG SRW game on the PS3. Hopefully Banpresto don’t pull too many punches while holding out for the final chapter in the Z series!
Are you also waiting for Final Fantasy X-3?
@Kaze Koichi
X-3 is still a myth at this stage and it will be a long time before it actually does come out 😛
